Sulpig

SULPIG is an oral/injection preparation for swine which contains Sodium Sulfadimethylpyrimidine. Sodium Sulfadimethylpyrimidine is a chemotherapeutic agent belonging to Sulfonamide group which influences folic acid biosynthesis by inhibiting the conversion of para-amino benzoic acid (PABA) to dihydropteroic acid which resulted in DNA formation disorder. SULPIG is effective against Escherichia coli, Haemophilus sp., Pasteurella sp., and Brucella sp.

COMPOSITION

Each ml contains:

  • Sodium sulfadimethylpyrimidine
  • Excipients

INDICATION

  • Bacterial scours (watery stools; black-colored, smelly faeces containing flecks of blood)
  • Pneumonia (coughing, snoring, sneezing)
  • Septicemia (fever, prostration, dyspnea, reduce appetites)

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Administer SULPIG 0.5 ml per kg of body weight on the first day. Then administer 0.3 ml per kg of body weight for 3-5 consecutive days. SULPIG may be administered via oral or parenteral. For oral treatment, treated drinking water should be consumed completely within 6-8 hours. Do not inject more than 5 ml of SULPIG on the same part.
