Erysuprim is a water soluble powder containing combination of Erythromycin, Sulfadimethoxine, and Trimethoprim. Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic which is effective to treat respiratory tract infection. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis by binding bacterial 50S ribosome. Sulfadimethoxine is a sulfonamide group which works by interfering the biosynthesis of folic acid in bacterial cells by preventing para-amino benzoic acid (PABA) from incorporating into the folic acid molecule. Trimethoprim works by inhibiting conversion of dihydrofolate acid (DHFA) to tetrahydrofolate acid (THFA), which is the same metabolic sequence as the sulfonamides, preventing bacterial synthesis of purines and DNA. Erysuprim is very effective in eliminating bacteria causing chronic respiratory disease (CRD) and infectious coryza.
Each kg contains:
0.2 g per kg of body weight or 1 g per liter of drinking water for 5 consecutive days
